Student  Email

To join a Microsoft Teams meeting as a student, access your Rowan-Cabarrus email from the homepage and locate your Teams meeting invitation. Open the invitation and click the “Join Microsoft Teams Meeting” link, then choose to join on the web if prompted. Adjust your audio and video settings as needed, enter your name, and select “Join now.” You may wait in a virtual lobby until your instructor admits you.

Once in the meeting, use the menu bar to control your camera, microphone, and screen sharing, access more options, participate in the chat, view participants, and leave the meeting when finished.

Student Class Team

To join a Microsoft Teams class meeting at Rowan-Cabarrus, start by accessing your student email from the Quick Links on the homepage, then sign in. From the App launcher, select Teams and continue. Sign in with your Rowan-Cabarrus email and password if prompted.

Once Teams opens, find your class under the Teams heading. You can join the meeting when your instructor starts it, and the Join button appears. Before entering, check and adjust your audio and video settings. When you join, use the menu bar at the bottom to control your camera, microphone, and other features such as screen sharing, chat, and the participant list.

Leave the meeting by selecting the red phone icon. Keep your microphone muted to minimize background noise.

Guest Login

To access Microsoft Teams as a guest at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, start by opening the invitation email and clicking “Open Microsoft Teams.” If your institution uses Microsoft products, log in with your credentials, then review and accept the permissions for Rowan-Cabarrus resources.

If not, sign up for a free Microsoft account using your email, create a password, provide your information, enter the verification code sent to your email, and complete the captcha.

After registration, accept the permissions to join the Rowan-Cabarrus domain. You can then choose to access Teams either through the desktop app or by selecting “Use the web app instead” if you prefer not to download the application.
