OneDrive Sync Client Share Options

The OneDrive Sync Client allows users to view and share files and folders with different permissions based on their access level.

Members Overview:

Members with view-only access can share links with people who already have access or request sharing with specific people, but cannot grant direct access or copy/send links by email for specific people.

Members with edit access have more options: they can share links with anyone in the organization, control editing and downloading permissions, and can copy or email links to specific people.

To grant direct access, users must have edit permissions and use SharePoint within the appropriate Team. Notifications confirm when links are sent or when requests are pending approval.

Owner Overview:

The OneDrive Sync Client Desktop Application allows team owners to share files and folders through several options: sharing with everyone at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, with people who already have access, or with specific individuals.

Owners can adjust link settings to allow editing or block downloads, and send links via email or copy them directly. To manage access, owners can view who has access via links or direct permissions, but direct access must be granted in SharePoint in Teams.

Permissions can be set to "Can edit" or "Can view," and recipients are notified by email when access is granted.
